Genny Status
Good morning,
I have gotten Genny to a state of some usableness. It has been tested
on various GNU/Linux distributions, but may not run on OpenBSD or
FreeBSD. Definitely not Windows.
If you've never played with pre-alpha software before, these are your
warnings. It will crash. It will do weird things. It may gobble up
all your memory and crash your computer. You've been warned.
Things that are implemented:
Broadcasting packets and routing reply packets.
Interactive user interface.
A few basic Genny Services.
Things that are not implemented:
Replies to Replies (like Pushes)
Two important services. :o)
Any kind of protection against malfunctions.
Genny is GnutellaDev's own Gnutella replacement effort. Its philosophy
is lightness of protocol, and flexibility. It makes no attempt to be
reliable, secure or private (yet).
